Review for oversea readers
This is a good and fun book for activists, who act against censorship.On the other side,it is not easy to novice.I'm sorry to write this:so I take off 1 star.
Already interested in manga,animation,novel and all media contents of Japan?
If the answer is "Yes!", you have a good will.Try the book,please.Manga part is written in Japanese and English subscription.
Have you act against censorship and thought control?
Can you remember why Japan opened the Pacific War?
The censorship started like this.
The police authority said/say,
"Just for children,not censorship.No hard core porn,no violence,no drug or other antisocial act are allowed (even if they are fiction!)."
In 1930's Japan,they said,"This is just control for good youth education.Don't worry journalists,teachers and parents!The problems are just in violence-grotesque novels like Ranpo Edogawa or Seisi Yokomizo and so on."
The censorship and thought control started like this in 1930's Japan.Nobody couldn't object in a "good(credulity) youth education" term or in a "strong and wealthy Japan" term.
Now,they say,"This is just control of selling.Don't worry novel writers!The problems are in Manga,Anime and games only.Take it easy."
(But problems are rising in novelists now.They are forced not to write about youth "bad" behavior.)
They think nobody can't object in a Youth Protection and Development Ordinance.
Tokyo Governor Ishihara and other censorship promotors didn't ask to youth.They believe unreal gossip what they want to, not real data.
I guess some of censorship promotors knew their misunderstanding already.Here are many retired police officer over 10,000 in Japan 2011 (and more).
Censorship promotors might think about retired people needs a work.Easy work and good name,like buy Manga,DVD,Games and check them.That is just my guess,dear.Don't worry about rent seeking. *grin*
We,parents and children needs more "real work" for youth.That is not easy as "checking book store and game shop,teach them how to sell."We want goverment to use money(our tax payment) for children.How and what our needs, do NOT include banning media and information technology.
In this book title, "Tokyo's Harmful Books Regulation" is called with a word "harmful".This is a reason of using that word.
We hope children and ourselves to live with fun media.Readers and creators have a good relationship in Japan.Ex:Comic market in Ariake.
If some people have anxiety,they can open their opinion and talk with others.They shouldn't control other people with law.And they are better to talk with "real" youngsters,I guess.
Have fun and do things our way.
